So many different ways to treat tinnitus have arisen over the past several years and this has been due to an increasing number of people who are complaining of ringing ears. Unfortunately, there is also misleading information that there is no cure for tinnitus.
New tinnitus cures have surfaced out of the continuing research in understanding what brings about ringing in the ears and how to shut the mechanism involved in it.
The effect of tinnitus is annoyance in moderate cases. In severe cases, it interrupts with sleep and causes depression.
Not all doctors believe that nothing can be done to stop tinnitus. Some neurologists look into the possibility of toning down overactive nerve cells in the brain that are believed to precipitate tinnitus noise in particular persons.
One way of reducing such heightened activity is by creating a magnetic field to stimulate overactive regions in the brain. This is called transcranial magnetic stimulation, in which a coil is put on the head. This magnetic field is said to create a calming electric current. This weak magnetic field bores about three inches into the brain "silencing noisy areas."
Scientists studying this new method use PET scan to find out excessively active spots. An increase in the blood flow to the temporal lobe is also an indication of tinnitus inducing over-activity.
TMS looks promising but in earlier studies done in Europe, the success of this procedure is short-lived as patients have reported tinnitus to relapse within weeks after the treatment procedure.
However, some experts point out that long term TMS therapy may be promising for chronic tinnitus cases. New tinnitus cures have also involved implanting electrodes not on the scalp but directly in the brain to bring abnormally active areas to normal function.
When conventional remedies do not work, people tend to look for other ways. One of which is stapedectomy – a surgical procedure of replacing specific parts of the ear with prosthetics. This is said to correct the sound conduction within the auditory system.
Other alternatives have taken people into more organic or natural means. A few experts are now convinced that certain inadequate nutrients make people susceptible to tinnitus. It has been noted particularly the insufficient vitamin B complex, A, C and E. Deficiency in magnesium and zinc is also linked to the ear problem. Thus, improving diet plan and taking nutrient supplements are believed to help alleviate ear noise symptoms.
New tinnitus cures are also being promised through the field of genetic engineering and stem cell research.

Dear John,
The tinnitus in my right ear is almost cured. I'm a very critical person especially when it come's to natural medication but this homeopathic remedy really seems to work.
I first bought the tinnitus curetreatment about 6 weeks ago and some days it comes back. Although for the last 2 weeks i have been able to do what i want when i want do it.
Together with the treatment I now lead a healthy lifestyle and drink loads of water. I have had to cut back on my milk intake because that seems to trigger it and also stopped drinking tea all-together.
I would like to Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
