Tinnitus Masking
Tinnitus masking is one of the various ways in finding relief from the ringing in your ears. With the use of maskers, this procedure is designed to make you divert your attention from the unwanted noise by producing a selected band of sound, the most common of which is white noise, although this can be practically done.
One way is by listening to your favourite music, the volume of which should be placed on a moderate volume. Turning on appliances that produce noise such as electric fan, radio, and television set is another practical step. However, there are disadvantages in continually doing them.

This is where the commercially available maskers step in. Available in the form of CDs and MP3 format, tinnitus masking is now more convenient to use. The sounds that these maskers produce have much better quality, hence, they are not annoying to listen to.
Maskers are usually used by those who have been deprived of sound sleep since tinnitus came into their lives. Indeed, sleep is very important to our well-being, so it would not be too much if we invest on something that would provide us that elusive sound sleep.
Furthermore, hearing aids also in a way mask the ringing in your ears. It is because they magnify the sounds in the wearer's environment thus making the wearer focus his or her attention to the background sound instead of the ear ringing.
Tinnitus Masking Treatment
Although their function is not to mask the unwanted sound, other treatments are also available to reduce tinnitus or to make it bearable. There are those who choose to be under drug therapy by taking prescription drugs such as antidepressants to help them manage stress.
However, these are reported to have side effects, which include constipation, blurring of the vision, and drying of the mouth. That is why there are sufferers who opt to go for the alternative treatments such as the use of herbal medicines and homeopathic remedies, and engaging in acupressure, acupuncture, meditation, reflexology and relaxation.
Alternative medicine, tinnitus masking, drug therapy -- these could help you in your search for that relief from this noise that proves to be distracting, annoying, and which has affected how you live your daily life as well.

If we missed something, it would be the kind of attitude that we should have toward the condition and their treatments. More often than not, what comes with a positive outlook is a positive outcome.

Having some relaxing music playing in the background will help tinnitus patients calm down and relax. It is not always feasible to have a fan running in your bedroom and the problem with many of the white noise generation devices is that they normally have small speakers that are simply unable to produce a true white noise or any other sound for that matter.
For this reason alone it is far better to have the tinnitus masking sounds that you enjoy in a CD format or in a digital format such as MP3 so you can listen to it using an Apple iPod or similar device.
The advantages of having your white noise tinnitus masking audios in CD format and MP3 format is that you can then listen to them in much higher quality, true stereo sound instead of the rather "tinny" and irritating sounds generated by most of the affordable white noise generators.
You can also take them with you, save them to your PC, download them to your MP3 player and "mask out" the tinnitus and other unwanted sounds whilst commuting, training, walking etc.

I ordered the white noise treatments for my aunt because after 3 years of trying a lot of things she got from her doctor and from the hospital, I told her about the T-Gone remedies.

She was not really optimistic at first as nothing really helped her in the past, but I just ordered it for her and because I received it she wanted to give it a try.
And after 1 week of taking the remedy and listening to the cd's, the sound in her ears was the best it had been in 3 yearsand now after 3 weeks it is almost gone !!!!
